Dr. Boyko Takov

Dr. Boyko Takov has been the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) since November 2018. With over 12 years of experience in business management, he has held leadership roles across various industries, focusing on investment, project management, and financial strategy.

His professional background includes significant experience in state administration, where he served as an expert in government institutions for four years. From 2008 to 2012, he was Executive Director and Board Member of the Bulgarian branch of a leading South Korean energy company, gaining extensive expertise in corporate leadership and international business relations. Throughout his career, he has held management and executive positions in agriculture, energy, and infrastructure, contributing to the development of key business sectors.

Dr. Takov holds a Master’s degree in Marketing and Economics from the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) and earned his PhD in Economics, Industrial Engineering, and Management from the Technical University of Sofia.

Currently, he is actively involved in academia as an assistant professor at UNWE. Since 2021, he has been a Board Member of the International Network for Small and Medium Enterprises (INSME), based in Rome, Italy. Additionally, in 2021, he was appointed by the Council of Ministers as the Head of Bulgaria’s National Contact Point for Responsible Business Conduct within the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
